Foxes Submitted For Necropsy 2026



 Note that I have nothing to do with fox rescues or submissions for post mortem examination since my old study was closed down. I am informed of dead foxes plus any health issues/causes of death as I monitor the fox population in the City and County of Bristol.

049      Friday 20 02 2026 Fox taken to Vale more than a month ago to help cracked leg bone heal PTS. He wasn't placing his foot down at all. And had high bilirubin levels so they suspected liver issues  (!!) Joyce close Horfield Bristol BS7 0PE  Dog fox 9.2kgs

076         Wednesday 25 03 2026 Two still born (still in placenta) found in garden. 5 Sherborne Close, Kingswood (forwarded for PM)

100              Wednesday 22 04  2026  Hadrian Cl, stoke bishop Bristol BS9 1DZ Vixen 4.7kg Collapsed in a garden. Strong smell of infection but no external wounds. After arriving at vets puss like blood came out of nose Vet wasn't sure but fox was too poorly to save Pts at Highcroft Shirehampton.  Taken for PM: This vixen either has a unilateral nasal infection possibly fungal or a nasal tumour

112           Saturday 02 05 2026 12A Harptree Grove, Bedminster, Bristol BS3 3PY Male 5.9kgs  Collapsed in garden Fly eggs pale breath smells uremic submitting for pm Tuesday

Jaundice is NOT only symptomatic of Leptospirosis but can occur due to infection, etc.
